GIOVANNI MASELLI

In 1999 he got a diploma in classical guitar with honours at the Conservatory of music “G. B. Martini” in Bologna .Besides, he followed the masterclasses of  world’s renewed guitarist : D. Russel, M. Seidel, B. Davezac, A. Diaz, A. Ponce, F.Bungarten.
In 2006 he got with distinction the Konzerte diplom at the Musichochschule in Lucerne (Swiss).
At the same time he is engaged in a concert activity both as a soloist and in some chamber music’s formations such as the Eon Guitar Quartet, a guitar quartet, and a stable duo with a violin. He performed in Italy and abroad on the major stages:  Municipal Theatre in Bologna, the Music Institute “S. Marino”, the guitar Festival in the “Centro Nacional de las Artes” in Mexico City, the Turku guitar Festival in Finland,Neunkirken (Germany) Morelia Guitar Festival ,Zacatecas Guitar Festiva ( Mexico) Festival de musica italiana de Quito y Guayaquil (Equador), and in the course of some other important Festivals in Italy.
In 2002 he gave a very important concert at the “Real Colegio de Espana” playing the “Fantasia para un Gentilhombre” by J. Rodrigo for solo  guitar and orchestra conducted by M° J. Bernacer, one of the most promising Spanish conductors.
Ever interested also in contemporary music and in the new technic composition, In 2003 he obtained the degree in Electronic Music Composition with full marks at the Conservatory if music “G.B.Martini” in Bologna.
In 2007 came out the recording of his guitar quartet Eon Guitar Quartet.
In 2008 recorded his first solo CD: “Fantasias y Caprichos”  already very well appreciated by the critic.
In 2009 he founded the guitar orchestra named “La Follìa” and actually is coordinator and soloist first guitar.
From 2009 is member of the jury in the “Claxica” composition competition for guitar and every edition is honoured to perform the winner’s work as very first performance.
Ever interested and stongly convinced of the importance of musical diffusion, he usually works together with the most actives composers and conductors of his generation and also is art director of the International Bologna Guitar Festival that brings in Italy the most brilliant and interesting players from around all World’s stages. 
Contemporary to the performing activity Giovanni Maselli is professor  of classical guitar in the italian statal school.
Giovanni Maselli plays very precious guitar made for him by the luthier Gerhard Shnabl (Germany) and Luciano Lovadina (Italy)
